Introduction to Migration
For Environments with the Legacy Alert Manager (AM), Alert Manager Enterprise (AME) provides an import function that can convert
AM Incidents
into AME Events
.
Limitations
AME imports the following data:
- Incident Metadata
- Incident Results
- Incident Comments
- Incident Statuses
- Incident Tags
- Incident Groups
- Incident Categories
- Incident Subcategories
Conversions:
- Incident Groups will be converted into tags
- Categories will be converted into a tag with the following format:
category:<category>
- SubCategories will be converted into a tag with the following format:
subcategory:<category>
Data and Configuration not imported:
- Notification Schemes
- Drilldown Actions
- External Workflow Actions
Importing Data
Under Administration
-> Setup
select the Migration
Tab.
- Select the tenant where to import incidents.
For users with the Multi-Tenancy activated, it is recommended to run a migration test into a temporary tenant.
Trial Keys for test migrations can be requested from sales (at) datapunctum.com
Select the scope for incident imports. The following scopes are available:
closed
,resolved
, andsuppressed
.Select the time range.
For incidents that use the append
functionality, ensure the first occurrence is later than the Start Time if these incidents should be included.
- Click
start
to begin the migration process
Verify migration
Imported events can be recognized by the description and history information.
Additionally, the migration log can be checked by running the following search:
